About Solara Jean; Instructor:
Solara Jean has been teaching Pilates since 1995. She was introduced to the method after ACL surgery and discovered the rehabilitative power of Pilates. She continued to practice the method in college where she received a BFA in Dance. As a teacher her passion is rooted in working with clients with chronic pain or injuries and developing functional fitness for all bodies. The principles of improving posture and body mechanics are the foundation of her approach. Workouts are a balance of challenging strength work, improving flexibility, balance, coordination and restoring movement patterns to give each person more stability, mobility and freedom of movement. This way of working will improve both fitness and quality of life. The benefits of working this way go beyond just doing exercises and reach all areas of life to help each person connect their body and mind in ways that help them in all activities, whether at a desk, hiking or running a marathon.
If you’ve tried Pilates in the past and found it intimidating I strongly encourage you to try a session with me! Pilates is perfect for everyone and can be tailored to support each person in gaining strength, flexibility, balance, coordination and most importantly awareness. Through expert cues and adjustments, Solara will use her eye for detail and intuitive understanding of movement to help you reach your fitness goals and beyond.
