Summer is here, school is out, and the last of the athletic seasons are over with but many athletes are injured or trying to stay in shape for next year and why not do it with GYROTONIC® method?  GYROTONIC® method is the most unique exercise and rehabilitation program available.  With its renowned circular motion it helps athletes and individuals a like stretch and strengthen their bodies.

GYROTONIC® method combines the principles of dance, gymnastics, swimming, tai chi, and yoga.  Many top athletes practice yoga such as Lebron James, Shaquille O’Neal, Ray Lewis, and the whole New Zealand All Blacks Rugby team and with principles of yoga, GYROTONIC® methods has been stated by exercise professionals as a breakthrough system for fitness and rehabilitative exercise.

The GYROTONIC® method takes use of machines that focus on circular motion unlike the conventional weight-lifting machines that focus on linear and isolated movement.  The circular motion emphasize on multiple joint articulations without compression of the joints, is perfect for athletes recovering from joint related injuries.  Certain injuries cause athletes to not be able do traditional exercises due to recovery of joints, GYROTONIC® method allows them to strengthen and stretch their bodies while rehabilitating at the same time.  The special attention to the mobility and stability of the spine helps sculpt a superior well-proportioned body that is less prone to injuries.

The emphasis on a strong stable back comes from the partial focus on abdominal and core strength.  The abdominal and core strength of an athlete is the base of an athlete’s strength.  An athlete with a stronger core can run faster and jump higher along with greater control over their body meaning the athlete is less injury prone as well.

A key element to GYROTONIC® Method is GYROKINESIS exercise.  GYROKINESIS exercise incorporates the same principles of GYROTONIC® Method; yoga, dance, gymnastics, swimming, and tai chi but instead of using machines it is free motion.  It is also known as “Yoga for dancers” or yoga in motion.  This will increases athletes’ range of motion, coordination, and cardio through yoga like movements put into motion like a dance by holding a pose for a short time and fluidly connecting it to the next.
